1. General Information on Cookies
The Privacy disclosure is an integral part of the following Cookie Policy, including the rights that the user can assert by contacting the addresses already provided.
Pursuant to Reg. EU 769/2016, as well as based on the provisions of the Data Protection Supervisor with resolution of 8.05.2014 for the identification of the simplified methods for the disclosure and acquisition of the consent to use cookies - published on the Official Gazette no. 126 of 3.06.2014 - and in compliance with all the subsequent clarifications, the Data Controller hereby provides their own Cookie Policy. The purpose of the Cookie Policy is to provide the user with all the information relative to art. 13 of Reg. EU 679/2016, as well as to describe specifically and analytically the characteristics and purposes of the cookies installed in the website, with the possibility of the user to select/deselect the individual cookies. The processing of the data through the use of the cookies is done with automated instruments and the storage period of the data depends on the nature of the cookie used.
What are cookies?
Cookies are strings of small-sized codes that the sites visited by the user send to his terminal (usually the browser: Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, etc.), where they are stored to be then retransmitted at every occurrence or subsequent access by that same user.
Why they are useful.
Through the use of the cookies, the website visited recognizes the user’s device and this determines an improvement in the surfing experience. One of the various purposes of the cookies is to allow the user to efficiently surf the pages of the website, remind him/her of their favourite sites, store the language, etc. Furthermore, the cookies contribute to guaranteeing that the advertising content displayed online are more focused relative to the specific interests of the user.
Classification of the cookies.
The cookies are classified into different types: relative to the duration, the cookie can be just one session - in other words automatically cancelled when the browser is closed - or continuing, in other words active until its expiry date or its erasure by the user. As regards the origin, the cookie can be first party - in other words sent to the browser directly by the site that is being visited - or third party - in other words sent to the browser by other sites and not by the site that is being visited.
Relative to the purposes, the cookie can be technical or involve profiling. This classification, for clarity and importance, deserves a more in-depth analysis.
The technical cookie makes it possible to improve the surfing experience of the user. In effect, without the use of the technical cookies certain operations would be very complex or impossible to carry out. These cookies - which could be both first party and third party, individual session or permanent - do not require the prior consent of the user for their installation.
The technical cookies are “strictly necessary” when they make it possible to efficiently surf the web site and to exploit its essential characteristics, as for example that of permitting IT authentications to be performed or the storage of previous actions. By blocking the use of these cookies, the surfing experience of the user could be compromised. But the technical cookies are “functional” when they make it possible to improve the surfing experience by storing the preferences expressed by the user, such as language, name, place. By blocking these cookies, the surfing experience would not be compromised, however the user could not use those useful services.
The technical cookies are “analytical” when they make it possible to gather information on the interaction methods to the site by the users, by analyzing the number of pages visited, the time spent on the website, the pages visited the most and every other issued that emerged during the surfing, such as possible errors stemming from the page visited. These cookies allow the owner of the website to obtain statistical data relative to the surfing and make it possible to improve the services offered to the user. The analytical cookies have a technical nature - but not profiling - only when the owner of the website has adopted suitable instruments to reduce the identification power of the analytical cookies used, through the masking of significant portions of the IP address.
It is not necessary to get the prior consent of the user in order to install technical cookies, therefore - if the website uses only technical cookies - the Data Controller is not required to obtain the consent through the cookie banner. The expanded disclosure (which the user is reading now) is instead compulsory.
The profiling cookies, instead, are only activate following the release of consent by the user. The release of the consent occurs by clicking “OK” (or “continue”, etc.) on the banner located on the homepage or on another page of that same site. The profiling cookies serve to improve the services offered and to select and send advertising based on the preferences and taste shown by the user during surfing. The use of the profiling cookies for sending focused advertising does not involve the display of more advertisements nor will the surfing experience be hampered. In fact, by deactivating the profiling cookies the user will display - in the place of online advertising related to his/her interests - exclusively generic advertising.
Third party statistical-analytical cookies without IP masking and data cross-referencing are profiling cookies. Lastly, the publicity, advertising, tracking or conversion cookies are profiling cookies.
2. How cookies are selected or disabled.
Except for the prior consent of the user in the case of the installation of profiling cookies, the majority of the browsers are set to accept the cookies automatically. By modifying the settings of one’s browser, the cookies can be limited or blocked. To manage the cookies it is necessary to refer to the instruction manual or the indications provided by one’s browser by following these paths (relative to the most common browsers):

It must be specified that if one elects to block cookies, the site could be compromised or not work properly since certain cookies are strictly necessary for surfing.
